Win 7 using 3.11-3.20 out of 4gb of ram on idle

i have a problem my windows 7 ultimate 64 bit is using 3+ gigs of ram without me doing anything . no mayor programs running is this an issue?

When you say "using", what exactly do you mean. What does task manager report on the Performance tab?

Memory usage in Windows 7 is quite complicated, but the bottom line is - why would you want Windows not to be using some of your memory?

Windows is not using that much memory. My guess is that you have some startup programs that grab RAM on system boot. You can control which programs get started along with the system.

hey i fixed it theres a bug in win 7 that makes the windows media sharing thing use up over 90% of the ram i turned it off and its fixed thanks
