I have downloaded and installed CE 7.50 properly, but when I want to
activate the mod, then it tells me that it misses ChaosEmpire.ce, which is
in the same folder. Same when I install the patch 7.51 and try again.

There was no "DATA" folder to delete as descirbed in the notes and the
working directory is set correct.

What can be wrong there?

Umm... some people have reported problems if their D2 installation is in
c:/program files/diablo2 or some such where there is a space between program
and files. Try searching the PhrozenKeep forum and here. If that doesn't
help, perhaps post over at PhrozenKeep, the author of the mod replies to
people there pretty quickly.

Are you using D2Loader?

Yeah! That's it. I reinstalled LOD in a space free folder and the rest went
smoothly.

Thanks to the other repliers, too.

BTW: 5 minutes of play gave me a ZOD, after half an hour I had an OHM and a
PUL as well. How weird is that? However, my Rogue merc is happy with her
knife :)
