ive done some benchmarks for the following games:
Americas army: 45fps 1024x768
unreal tournament: 60fps 1024x768
quake 3: 80fps 1024x768
giants: 60fps 1024x768
aquanox: 110fps 1024x768
sof2: 50fps 1024x768
mohaa: 30fps 1024x768

these are all max settings

i have been having problems before and think that these are extremly crappy fps comparing to what other sites have and toms hardware has. i posted another thread thread before about me gettign bad peformance. My system environment is:

Motherboard: ga-7vtxe+
CPU(brand, type & frequency):AMD Athlon XP 1700+ (1.46ghz)
Memory (size, type): 256mb ddr ram (pc 2100) Nanya
Motherboard Chipset: VIA KT266A
Motherboard BIOS version: F5
Graphics card BIOS version (if applied): 4.25.00.30
Operating System :Win XP
DirectX version: 8.1
Graphics card driver version (if applied): 6.13.10.2832
IRQ usage: 16

Ok, forgive me if I missed it but I've read your post twice now and nowhere did you mention what GPU you are using. Just an observation.

I'd say they are a bit low then, but I havn't owned a Nvidia chip since my TNT 16mb monster!

I have an Ati Radeon 8500LE 128DDR and I get around 50fps in America's Army 1024x768 fully optimized.

Unless you recently installed new drivers or replaced an old nVidia card with your GF4 Ti4600, I'd say you have an IRQ conflict. Here's how to solve it:

Go into your BIOS and set "PNP OS" to "no". Then go into PCI IRQ settings and set all the IRQ's manually. Once Windows starts again, check device manager to see if there are any IRQ conflicts. If there are, go back into the BIOS and change them again. Keep changing IRQ's until there are no conflicts in windows device manager.

Also if you have a PCI card in PCI slot 1 (the slot adjacent to the AGP slot) then move it to another slot. PCI slot 1 and the AGP slot share the same IRQ and may be conflicting, causing your graphics card to perform slower than it should.

If during this benchmark tests you are getting occasional pauses in gameplay that's a further sign of an IRQ conflict. That and the erratic score you post (SOF going from 50 fps to 30 fps for no reason) lead me to believe you have an IRQ conflcit.
