I have a Video/Keyboard/Mouse switch on my computer because I only want to have one monitor/keyboard/mouse for my 4 computers. Is this hurting my video proformance any on my GE Ti 4200?

I got a cheap KVM, one with just a rotary switch, and got horrible ghosting. Both computers had terrible output through the switch. I was getting ready to toss out the KVM but then I found a great deal on a Radeon 8500 and changed video cards on my main system. The ghosting was 90% gone. I can still see the ghosting if I adjust the video controls just so but most of the time I can't see it. It's still a compromise between picture quality and functionality of using two computers with one monitor but at least I didn't have to go out and buy one of those $200 KVMs.

So I guess what I am saying is video quality can be affected by a KVM, by it's quality, the length of cables, and also by the particular video cards connected to the KVM.

Some KVMs can also limit the refresh rate that you can use for your monitor.
