My daughter has an old NEC Versa V/50 with Windows 95.It has been sitting for a while and when she tried to use it recently we get a message " No boot device available-Press F1 to run Auto setup" pressing F1 gets a message "Differences between CMOS RAM selections and those detected during the Power-On Self Test" no changes I make in the setup including "load defaults and exit" make a difference.Could this be due to the 3V button battery being dead? I have no setup disks or boot disks for this laptop. What can I do to get it running?

It sounds like the CMOS battery is dead(3V Button Battery as you call it), you will need to replace it with a new one, and reset the CMOS settings, Date, Time, Etc.
