Hello
i recently bought a nvidia geforce 2 mx400 with 64mb memory.
When the pc starts at the top of the screen its says "Nvidia geforce 2 mx 400 " but when i log to windows the card is recognized as geforce quadro!
I have changed drivers from the early 28.xx to 30.82 now.
Does anyone know whats the problem?
I have winXp
3dmark2001 marks only 1290 and other users with the geforce2mx score 3k!!
plz help

This also happened to me, first off make sure you don't have any 3-rd party tools installed such as RivaTuner, etc. If you do delete it, since there is a feature in some of these tools to "turn on" quadro features, thus making windows recognize it as one. Now with no 3rd party tools installed, uinstall your nvidia drivers all together - and before reboot go into system devices and delete anything listed under video adapters. Upon reboot windows should not know wtf the card is or maybe it will and install a crap driver for it, simply ignore whatever windows is trying to do and install your new detonators (note 30.xx are old now, as there as 40.41 avail on nvidia.com here). Anyhow install the drivers, reboot again and you should be good. Worked for me.

what do u mean by geforce quadro? Does it say that, or simply Quadro? Hehe, try downloading Rivatuner and then goto where it says target adapter and customize, under nvstrap tab, select force off quadro features. Conversely, u could flash bios w/ quadro, and sell it for 3x what u paid for it:)

NVIDIA quadro /....(my monitor)
64bit-AGP NV10(A3)with 64 mb sdr memory
can this is true with 100mhz core and 143mhz memory speed?

It says only quadro, not Quadro EX or MXR? Cause then that's odd, and also I don't think those clock speeds r right. U could take a look at a reference mx400 board and make sure resistors are in correct place, but that's plain ass. Just return it and explain ur problem.

Definately some wierd frequency numbers, my MX ran at something like 220/380 (DDR380 is 190MHz actual) and it ran great, got me around 2400 in 3D-Mark 2001!

You have a GeForce 2 MX200, not the MX400. I believe the highest score I could get with an Overclocked MX200 on the same system was around 1800 points in 3D-Mark 2001. It's really a trashy card, when you overclock the MX200 and TNT2 (full version) to their limits, the TNT2 outscores the MX200 by about 15%.
