Someone was wondering why there are so many PK's out there in hardcore
land, as well as on the soft core realms.
..
I think part of the answer is that many players have been abused and
hurt as children. To share their pain,to display it by proxy, in a
socially unacceptable fashion, they cause pain to others. In effect
saying.. "You characters death is only a sample of the real pain I
have suffered!"

Lord only knows what cruelty and pain those players may effect on the
"real" world when off line. I suspect it's not always pleasant to be
around them.

So take hope. When they're online "killing" us, they're not on the
street burning cats or gang banging, or beating their girlfriends. We
are doing are part to keep the streets safe.

There is no PK'ing in softcore, that's only a goldfind, you cannot kill
a softcore char.

On hardcore there is diffent kind of PK'ers, the kids that found a
script to kill for them, and the others that kill's for a purpose.

If it's the kids with scripts, then think about it like the kids that
step on your castle on the beach, they do it because the find it funny.
And if you will tell me you never cheated and trying to ruining some
kind of game, then i up front tell you that you are lying.
Then there are the others that kills for a purpose and don't use
scripts, they are skilled players and what you can hold against them is
they are better players then you, if you can't handle that maybe you are
best of in softcore or single player.

So a skilled player that is able to beat you is a bad person, i think
that says more about you than them.

Get a grip, how can you compare i virtual computer game to the real
world, again i think you are the one with the biggest problem.

You sounds like you have a lot of anger in you because you have stupid
enough to let your chat get killed. Maybe if you start playing attention
to the game in stead of bitching it wouldn't happen.

Like you?

You've always sounded like a borderline scriptkiddie to me--or maybe not
even borderline.

From your posts, you sound like somebody who's trying to justify your own
cheating, somebody who's incredibly naive, or somebody who's just pretending
there's such a thing as "legitimate" HC PK'ing to shake the trees and piss
people off.

And let's not forget the PKK subclass. This type of player only hunts down
and kills players that have PK'd others, NOT other duelers.

Technically, "PK" implies only that the kill occurs without advance notice.
It does not necessarily imply cheating with TPPK hacks or otherwise...but in
practical reality, most PKers do in fact use such cheats. "Dueling" implies
not only that advance notice be given, but that it be accepted by the target
character. Dueling, by this definition, is honorable. PKing may be
honorable or not, but in practice it's almost never honorable.

I have always been fascinated with this subclass, but my dueling skills are
not up to the level needed to successfully create one. Question: is is
possible to become a skilled PKKer without resorting to dishonorable
tactics?

Yes like me, i'm man enough to admit that i sometimes when in hopeless
situations on a checkboard have pushed the board by "accident". Don't
know if you know the kid game can, but also there i sometimes removed
the can for own safety.
I also when played soccer make freekicks even once got a yellow card, i
also get thrown out of a hanball game once for badmouthing the ref.
So yes i have bended and broke the rules.
And in diablo 2 i even started cheating too, got tires of having a
gazzilion chars in signle player so about 6 months ago i downloaded atma.
And that was the first time in the 15 years i played on a cimputer i
bended the rules in person.
Else i only have as many others, willing to admit it or not, benefittet
from playing in parties where 1 or more of the members have used mh or
simular programs.

Sorry to hear that, but if that's the picture you have drawn of me then
i guess there is nothing i can do about it.

If i cheated i would know i did and didn't have to justify it. I haven't
used any cheats or other programs that messed around with the game. But
i know a lot of them and how they work, that also make me a hard target
when people tries to use them on me.
It wouldn't be the first time i'm called naive, but i don't think thats
the case here.
You can kill other players on HC without breaking or bending any rules,
what else is needed for it to be legit, a written note from Blizzard
saying it's ok?
Is anybody ever been hurt by shaking the tree?
Pissing people off is where i'm real good, just ask my boss :)

pkk is more or less the same class as a non script using pk'er. A char
which only purpose is to hunt down pk'ers

I sure think there is.
And if by any chance you are building a pvp char and you run into a
pk'er he or she should be a easy target for a pvp char.
