I've got myself into a fix this time. I made this mod for 1.09 where
the Baal throneroom minions are replaced by Andariel, Duriel, Mephisto
and finally Diablo. My necro, nightmare, level 63 i think, just cant
make a dent in Diablo. I can get the other three. Even if i portal
out, use a waypoint and get an entire fresh army of skellies and
revives, 29 skellies, 8 mages and 13 revives, it's no help. Diablo
cooks the skellies imediately, and the revives hang on for about maybe
a minute. Then its just me and the golem and the merc and we cant make
a fricking dent in the lizard king.

Its much worse than facing him in the end of act 4. It was time
consuming, but, i could at least see we were inflicting some damage on
diablo at the end of Act 4. Here, throneroom, we aint even giving him
a scratch.

short of editing the code and trying to strip him down, what are some
alternate techniques I could try? How do you necro-masters usually try
to kill diablo?

How many points do you have in Summon Resist? That always seemed (for me)
to be the key to being able to kill Diablo, that they do NOT die in his
first or second ring of fire. Plus, for some reason, I prefer the Fire
Golem over the Clay Golem for killing Diablo, I use decrep to slow him
down and keep recasting the FG as needed (make sure you have full rejuvs
in your belt to slurp), you do know that there is an area affect when the
FG dies or is recast, so I recast him on the opposite side of big D from
his predecessor (just before he dies) so that he (big D) gets hit from
both the new and old FG fire explosion affect.

four or five. one point in and then several pieces that give + to all
skills.

they're gone after usually one blast. I dunno. This minion diablo must
have some "new and improved!" fire blast.

I use fireproof revives, like the venom lords around the infector of
souls (in an un-modded Diablo2), to dispose of him.

Yuppers, those on the right. The problem is; I only open this seal next
to last, kill them, open the other seal to the right, revive some, walk
over to Diablo, and the show begins.

Having to travel to Baal withem, though, will have them drop dead again
after three minutes, because the walk is way too long. You need an area
with fireproof critters close to a waypoint, and a portal near Diablo-
to-spawn; which will probably a bit difficult. Maybe if the Frozen
Highlands have some Fire Skeleton Archers spawning, it could be done.
But IIRC, these are specific for Patch 1.10

So, I have no idea about how to do this. Maybe if he can collect some
imps in the Worldstone Tower.

yeah i realized tha tlast night when i tried it. good idea but those
guys were way too far away from a waypoint.

in the end i realized i was stuck. the necro just doesnt have enough
bang to deal with this collosal mega-diablo that is spawning in the
throneroom. I hadda edit his code just so the necro could get past
him. Curiously, after that, Baal was a proverbial cakewalk.

I'm gonna try Chaos Empire anyway. sounds like fun

It is a freakin' BLAST!

Go to the web page and establish an account, make an "inhabitant" post
on the forum, download the 7.55 version, install, and have at it!

Like our friend said up there, summon resist is the key!

The two main things that kill ur summons are the ring of fire and that red glowing thing that i am almost sure that deals lightning dmg.

Your revives are pathetic there, revives are more like a big piece of meat to hold against many enemies, it is useless against one boss. Your fire Golem should be the key of this too.

I honestly had a necro with revive once... cant forgive myself for doing that!!! my actual necro has no revive skill now.

Make a nice fire golem and get all summoning skills except revive;
Get items that give u more summon skill points, this should give u some spare points to use in other skills;
get iron maiden and bone wall or bone prison;
Get many mana potions;

Even after all ur skellies are dead, u can still use ur fire golem and the iron maide skill on it and use bone wall or bone prison to annoy diablo and lock him down.

I have seen fire golem alone killing diablo with no help.
