I for one am someone who can take this subject seriously!

Being an atheist probable makes me more incline to believe in aliens and stuff. Not that I do, I’m undecided on the whole alien thing right now, but I do believe that if an alien race did exist and had so for millions of years they would no doubt possess god like powers.


An interesting book to read is “Mankind child of the stars”. The authors (Max H. Flint, Otto O. Binder, Max H. Flindt, Erich Von Daniken) talk about how man was genetically engineered and gives lost of reasons supporting their point. A very cool book, truly radical thinking when it was written. I’m sure some of the facts could be proven wrong with all the new knowledge we have in biology and genealogy but I still recommend this book to anyone who in interested in this subject, it’s really gets you thinking.

Subjet matter about UFOs and extraterrestrials has become quit sophisticated since Von Danikens first books. Presently i'm onto the path that has as premise that they are real and that most goverments know about them.
This book in particular: "Extraterrestres, secret d'état, L'AFFAIRE ROSWELL", by Commandant Jean-Gabriel Greslé, éditions : J'ai lu, 1997, 281p.
Is so well documented, it's scary.
The US has passed a "declassification bill or act" or whatever you want to call it, regarding highly classified documents dating back over 25 years or more. The jist of this bill is that the document in order to be accepted for declassification has to be 25 years old or so. Don't need to mention that some documents will not fall under the jurisdiction of this bill, of course...
Well guess when the Rosswell incident occured. yep it has been getting in the open for some time now.
Lot's of photocopies in this book of secret docs that have been declassified. Not only of Rosswell and not only of 1947. Dozens and dozens of very interesting documents from the USAF.
I may do a short resume and post it one day.
The conclusion of the book?
Well, since so much info on the subject had been classified and now is being declassified, his book only gives stronger evidence, by meticulous documentation, that the "coverup theory" of UFO contact is quite real.

Wow, that is deep. It brings back memorys of when that cult committed suicide together becuase they thought there was a spaceship behind that big meteor from a couple of years ago... I wish I could remember the name of it. YOu all probably know what Im talking about.

Really though, I do believe in there being other life in this universe, or even solar system, but I doubt that they would openly make contact with us. In my eyes, we are still a pretty unintelligent race, as a whole, that couldnt(despite what we think), acknowledge and accept it in a wise way.

Think about it. With Bush running the world right now. With China at his right side. Do you think smart reactions and choices would be made? I for one dont. I think if they are 'up there', they have realized this or something to that effect, or maybe where 1 million years short on an evolution scale that it would be appropriate...

Well... like Science saying that it's all just natural laws and occurrence (like the Big Bang). There are some Native American creation stories about giants ejaculating to create the world. There’s the Chinese myth of.. Ping.. I think is his name, who in his death, the world was created.. There are many many others.. Heck you could just make one up. Most of them have the same amount of believability as the Christian myth.

Great understanding is broad and unhurried; little understanding is cramped and busy.

Please don't start the whole Christian complexity debate. No, we're not to complex to have started from something destructive. It took a very long time to get here, and I'm sure we're not as complex as we'd like to think, though we are for this planet, but the nerves brain whatever debate is no good. It's an often used argument to show a God making us on this planet, but it is not one backed by any facts and it shows an lack of knowlege on how species can change- even in a very short amount of time. It doesn't take many years, just many generations, and we've seen some rapid changes in the insect world with new species arising within the past 40 years due to adaptation to pesticides etc. Life forms, as they are now, are to complex to be created by destrucive forces or whatever, but life didn't start out complex. It wasn't like primordial ooze- human. There were one or two steps along the way.

Discussions on the origins of life, the origins of the universe, can get off track if we get too emotionnal. We are seekers of truth here. Not dictators and conquistadors.
Beleiving in an "Almighty God" should not affect any of these types of discussions. Wy? Because is it not so easy to see that there will always be an unknown factor, you know, the one single piece to the whole cosmic puzzel that will ALWAYS stay unawered. That we can, if we wish, may be equated with "The Almighty God".

God/science/aliens, are they not related? Of course let's not put it all in the blender and see what comes out.
I'm troubled, but no not emotionnal, about the negative, perhaps close minddedness, some have towards the possibility of the so called "conspiracy theory". The term has a bad ring to it. The "protection theory" would be more appropriate. Goverments, democratic goverments that is, want a stable, successfull functionning economy. What would happend to that stability if the President of the United States addressed the nation to announce that extraterrestrials have been in contact with them (the goverment) and presently still are.
They could be affraid of a destabilizing reaction and unfortunatly they may be right. So it is not necessarely a bad thing that a form of coverup is in place.
This reasonning has been put forth by many authors researching the UFO phenomena. It is quite logical and sound. Yes yes i can see the single problem in all this: the premise is that "extraterrestrials do exist and have bean and still are in contact with humans". Well this is in fact the debate that personnally i find the most interesting at the moment. Is this premise valid or not? The debate is ongoing.

Actually, i don't feel like "prouving" anything to anybody. What i do feel like is exchanging links, references, documents or discussing specific accounts of "UFO Encounters" with people that have a healthy sense of curiosity.

Ya, i hear you. One day long long ago, i came home from highschool and told my dad i was going to start the practice of TM (Transcendental Meditation).Let me tell you he put up such a fuss, like i was telling him i was gay (nothing wrong with that now mind you ) or becoming a monk or something.
Typical humand reaction of the general public's mind. You don't understand something: it has to be wrong.
Does'nt mean we must beleive everything Tom, Dick and Harry say they saw. But we must at least listen to their complet story. We must check out their story to the best of our capabilities. It's not a question of "prouving" them right or wrong. It's a quest for "understanding". The truth is something flexible, it is affected by our understanding of reality. It's for this reason that the urge for understanding is so precious. Our paradigm changes in parallele to the change of our understanding of reality and more precisely to the acceptance of these new realities.
I have the utmost respect for those pure and applied scientists exploring the nature of our reality.
I have equal respect for a researcher trying to arrive at an understanding of the "UFO" phenomena.

Yes, i have. And at times like that i might be awe inspired by the beauty of it all. One of my favorite childhood books was one on astronomy by Time Life. The pictures of galaxies and nebula were just too much.

It's an illusion. You've probably noticed that the moon is nice and normal later when it gets higher in the sky. In reality the moon is the same size the whole time. You can measure the size by looking through a papertowel roll or something similar and see that quite easily. Yet I've seen the moon so large that it dwarfed the mountain it was cresting.

I just thought I'd point out a simple and recognizable example of how easily and how common it is for the human eye and brain to be fooled.



I suppose now is a good time to point out that the beautiful pictures you're seeing of galaxy's are long exposures gathering massive amounts of photons and if you were actually in that beautiful nebula your eyes wouldn't see it in all the beautiful colors. Our nerves just can't hold the response time as long as a camera can so we can't saturate our eyes and gather all the light necessary to see all the pretty colors and such. In addition to that a lot of those pictures are gathering light that spans light years. I wish we could see them the way the pictures show them but we never will. In addition to that a large deal of the pictures we see of planets and moons are falsely colored. They aren't as bright and fantastic in reality, but they're still definitely awe inspiring.
