G-force 2 mx /mx400 Problems

Iam currently having problems with this video card, Im using XP and using basic drivers that come from XP.

When running games it crashes (max payne) and quake but im also experinced other problems. The problem is i get the monitor test signal after scrolling through a word document on my a drive and got this signal

Monitor goes blank, square box with following info in it.

Out of Range

(R)(G)(B)

H:30-54Khz
V:50-120Hz

Is my video card about to blow?

any help appreciated.

Basic driver comes with winXP is very slow. Why not get the detonatorXP 40.41 driver from www.Nvidia.com? The monitor shows signal out of range is because there is no contact between your monitor cable and your card, probably the connector. Check if it is loosen.
