I heard that Windows XP has a way to block these Pop-up spam. ANy idea how to enable it? I know it does because my windows 98 does it. I don't know how it became enabled on my old PC but there is a counter on the browser that keeps tab of how many pop-up ads it blocked. I haven't see one pop-up in months. I need the same blocking ability on my new PC.

When most people say they don't like mozilla, they usually mean the look of it. You can totally change the looks using new skins. The default skin is kinda bland.
firebird comes with a nicer skin as default. It also loads quicker, takes less memory and less hard drive space. A much leaner package.

M$ will include a pop-up blocker for IE in Service Pack 2. Until then, there is no 'built-in' pop-up blocker in Win XP. I think you're referring to the Windows Messenger service, which has been known to be a great way for people to spam you with ads. Simply stop and disable the service.

A second thought ... I use My Way.Com as a web portal/start page - very customizable and blocks pop-ups and banner ads ...
Give it a shot ...
