Hi,
My system's a low-end system, and I wanted to upgrade my graphic card(currently using Gf2Mx200).

My choice is Radeon 8500LE, not sure how far it can go on my system, need some opinion.....

following is my system spec:
AMD DURON 700
128MB PC133
MSI K7TPro2
8GB ATA-33 Seagate-Metalist

Thank you all, have a nice day.

A R8500LE would definitely be overkill, but it'll bring out the most in your system. At newegg.com, there's a R8500 OEM selling under the R8500LE OEM name, and it's $89.

A GF2 Ti would probably be enough for that system though.

...And all the King's horses and all the King's men couldn't put my computer back together again...

I just bought a RADEON 8500LE 128 Megs.

My system is :
P3-735 (105*7).
320 Megs RAM.
ASUS P3V4X

I managed to get about 4500 in 3DMark2001 SE. I had a Geforce 256 64 Megs before.

For your information. 4500 in 3DMark is equivalent to a Geforce3 TI 200/500 on the same system. Now, I know that my CPU is not powerful enough. But, I double my performance with my new ATI card and I think I will appreciate the 3D performance for a long time. Only need a CPU upgrade now!

NOTE : If you buy an ATI, but all the settings in D3D and Open GL to performance, I don't see a lot of impct on 3DMark, but it boost the FPS a little in a couple of games.

NOTE : On high-end system the results in 3DMark can go up to 12000 with the RADEON 8500.

I just bought a 8500LE 128Mb this weekend to put on my system
-Pentium III, 600Mhz
-Asus P2B
-256Mb Crucial CL2 SDRAM
... and I more than doubled my 3DMark scores (4119). Previously, I had a GF2MX (1925 at 3DMark). I bought the card to benefit from a limited time bargain at Future Shop (Canada). Am I glad I did!!!
Don't worry, the 8500LE will do more than just fit in your system! One thing though, I had a hard time with the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI's Web site (See my post "8500LE and Catalyst issues"). I had to stick with the drivers that came on the CD. I'll wait for the next driver release to upgrade.
Other than that, it works great.
Now I can finally play B&W without any screen hanging situations.
