i have windows xp home. specs are athlon xp 2100, but in bios i cant seem to find my fsb and multiplier ratio. i know what they are and all but i wanted to see if they were locked
Sirak is right - fsb and multiplier have everything to do with your mobo/BIOS, nothing to do with Win XP. Check the mobo manual, you probably access the BIOS by hitting a certain key during boot-up. Watch your screen for a msg like "Hit F2 to enter setup" or something like that.
1.4 Ghz AMD T-Bird underclocked to 1 Ghz...just to be safe!
oh yes sorry i know thta. i know how to get into bios. i know howto access the bios screen etc, i just cant see my fsb and multiplier ratio values. my mobo is compaq 6029us with an nvidia chipset and i dont have a manual.
Intel is another that won't allow overclocking. Found that out when I had a 1.3ghz PIV back when those first came out 2 years ago. Try an Abit or ASUS motherboard in future.
