print problems!

I have a small network set up using the following:

netgear wireless router MR814
XP Professional
Office XP

The problem is when I launch microsoft word and try to print.
by going to File > Print or by clicking the Print icon...
it takes up to 1 minute for the actual Print box to appear.
Does anyone know why this is happening or why it is taking so long.
I have to print many word docs and it is driving me nuts!

Have you asked this in one of the official microsoft newsgroups?
news.microsoft.com
look for the Word, or the XP, newsgroups...there are many, with
many helpful experts (from all over) watching.

Do you have any printers defined that are on some "other" network, and not
available to you right now? Maybe your default?
