I need to buy a new videocard ASAP! I am selling my old R8500. My choices are:
R8500 64MB
Ti 4200 64MB
R9000 Pro 64MB/128MB
Will there be a big difference in performance between the R9000 Pro 64MB and 128MB versions? I heard the R8500 beats the R9000 non-pro but the R9000 Pro has more features and has a better clock than the R8500 right?
Please help me. I need to buy a card today or tom. Thanks!
The R9000/Pros are just damn slow. Even overclocked, they usually can't get to R8500 stock speed performances. The Ti4200 would be the fastest out of those 3.
...And all the King's horses and all the King's men couldn't put my computer back together again...
I'm going to hav to agree with Chuck, the Ti4200 would be the best choice....don't worry about springing for the 128MB version either, the 64MB rates faster anyway.
Thanks for the two of you! I guess if I feel the Ti 4200 is too much I'll go back to Radeon 8500. Thanks again!
btw whihc brand of Ti 4200 is good. I see cheap ones like Chaintech, eVGA, AOpen, Inno3D...which one is the best...after those cheap ones is the Gainward, is this a good brand?
Actually Chaintech is one of the better brands. Gainward, MSI, Asus, and Leadtek are also good brands. You will find that Chaintech and Gainward are the cheapest though(around $120-125).
My Inno3D is great and came at a good price but I do not know about the o/c'g since I run it at stock speeds. I have heard that the MSI 4200 is good for oc'g. Haven't heard about Inno3d
Chaintech Is the better maker? Is it more expensive...and what is it about chaintech, please, that makes it more desirable (past success, etc.)? Tthanks for the info....frew
Chaintech is one of the most inexpensive graphic card makers out there. They are one the better manufacturers because of reliability, stability, good tech support, and overclockability.
