I built a 2000XP today and here is my problem. I am using an Asus board with an onboard Geforce 2 GPU and when I use it, my video is fine. When I plug in my VisionTek G4 TI 4200 I got alot of horizontal lines on my screen that is different colors, so bad it is hard to see the screen. this is a fairly new card so I was wondering if my 300W PSU isn`t enough to power it, am I right? Any help would be apreciated.

If you could give your full system specs that would help alot. But unless you are running 3 HD's or more than two optical devices you should be fine with a 300W PSU. What brand of PSU is it?

In a world without <font color=red>walls </font color=red>or <font color=green>fences </font color=green>, what use have we for <font color=red>Windows </font color=red>or <font color=green>Gates.</font color=green>

Visiontek G4 TI4200

Questions to consider:

Does the 4200 work fine on another system?
Does any other video card work on your new system?
Have you reseated the 4200?
Have you tried a PCI video card, to rule out a mobo AGP problem?

If the answers are yes then you might have a bad psu. 300w is enough for your system but a 300w rating doesn't mean the psu doesn't suck, or that it really can put out 300w.
