i have a asus gforce4 4200TI 128DDR.
i have an old heatsink of my old pc, i am going to cut this down and use these to put little heatsinks onto the ram of the video card.

what do you guys think, will it decrease the temp of the ram or make it worse, if i do put them on, can i push the ram speed higher, and if so, by how much?

Thanks

If you dont know how to install them correctly, dont even try ;) . It's no use putting heatsinks if there is too much thermal paste, ie bad thermal dissipation. Personally, I wouldn't do it as they were not designed to suit the RAM modules on your graphic card. Moreover, I dont think you would gain alot, if any. Heatsinks can cause some problems as well (something to see with a pseudo magnetic field generated by the electricity getting through your RAM). Well, to me, it's just not worth the time !

Yes, if applied correctly the RAM-heatsinks would be of use.
I´m not to sure about cutting down the old heatsink, just buy some RAM-heatsinks, I´ve heard they´re cheap.

There are many more but these are two that I order from and I have yet to run into any trouble from them.
