ever since i purchased my computer every time i play a DirectX game such as warcraft 3, Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor, Ect. i can play for about 2 min. then my screen gets covered in random colored squares about 1x1 millimeter big. this also freezes my computers and forces a manual restart. i have downloaded new drivers for my video card and motherboard. i also reFormated my hard drive all to no avial. my system config. is:

Athlon XP 1800
Acorp VIAKT266A Mobo
256 Mb Crucial DDR RAM
Gainward GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64 Mb

i don't think it is overheating becuse it runs fine for hours in: half life, UT2003 and U. plus i have a blow hole with a thermaltake 120 MM fan right above it and it is not overclocked. also this problem has only started when i purchased Warcraft 3, it has since spread to all the other listed games, before i bought that i had had no problems. and no i have not upgraded my system since then.

try downloading the a fresh copy latest drivers & Dx8.1b then install them... something has got corrupted with your current files

no-one shouts louder than someone who is being ignored, or in the case of techies, to be heard over the noise of their PC's ;-)

But if not even a format could help him? That sounds like a pretty rare problem. How about dust and things inside the case?
