Question about ATI Radeon 9500PRO

Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my Computer with a new Graphics Card. The thing I do with it is mostly 3D Gaming. I can't really afford an ATI Radeon 9700PRO. So I would like to get an ATI Radeon 9500PRO. So I was wondering, when will they release the card onto the market? Also, what in the price for it in Canada? (Go Canada )

I was waiting for the Radeon 9700 non-pro, which they've finally released. It'll be a few weeks before they are available, and a couple of weeks more before they are available in Canada oddly enough, though they're made in Canada. The 9500, 9500pro and 9700 will all be out before Christmas, I'd say mid to late November.

On the other hand the prices will majorly drop in January/Febuary if you can wait that long. At that point the holliday rush is over, and Nvidia's competing gforce5 will be out, knocking prices down a bit across the board.

When they announced the Radeon 9700 pro back in August, it was 2 weeks before they started shipping, and another week or 2 before they started showing up in Canada. I'm anticipating much the same lead time. The 9700 non-pro may start shipping sooner, as there are no real changes between it and the 9700-pro, other than a lower clockspeed. The 9500 and 9500 pro require some major changes to the PCB and memory systems. That may take awhile longer. If I was ATI I would avoid shipping the 9700 non-pro until the 9500 is ready to go, in order to avoid cutting into my own sales.
