I believe I fried my GeForce2mx

When I was handling my graphics card (which was working fine before) I think I accidentally shocked it, even though I didn't feel anything. So after I put it back in this happens:

1. the fans spin
2. the led for the dimms light up, as usual
3. the hard drive starts reading, then stops
4. the monitor is on sleep mode immediately after boot up
5. the system speaker doesn't emit any sounds (normally it would beep once upon checking its memory.

I think that the vid card is fried, and everything else is working. Can i get some expert opinion on this matter to verify that it is indeed that the vid card is fried?

Did you try another card in the system? Thsoe symtoms could also indicate an incompletely inserted card.

I know it isn't an incompletely inserted card, but I will check with the local computer shop to see if they can try it with another computer.

Did you change the refresh frequency to a level that your screen can't support?
