I have to build a mobil 3D powerhouse PC for on-the-road 3D simulation. It needs to be dual processor and have the capability of multiple monitors. I've got the budget for the Wildcat graphics card(s), but I need to be able to use 4 monitors (3 for 3D views, and one for control gui and presentations/documentation). Projectors may be substituted for 1 or 2 monitors for larger group presentations.
I'm not sure what it takes to get more than 2 monitors. I know the Wildcat supports 2 monitors, and its AGP. Can I just get a second graphics card, like an PCI Elsa, to get additional monitors?
Can anyone help me figure out how I can build a system to support 4 monitors? Any advice, comments, or pointing-in-the-right-direction, would be much appreciated.
The Matrox Parhelia supports 3 monitors, and is supposed to do a very good job of it. I don't know of any vid card that supports 4. You could always get a Parhenalia plus a PCI video card for monitor number 4, but I warn you that both the Parhelia and any PCI card won't have very good 3D performance.
