I noticed that my bios has an option to enable fast writes for my agp graphics card(Radeon 7000, 64mb) and according to Sisoft Sandra, it tells me that my A7V333 supports it,, the graphics card supports it but it is disabled. What the heck is it and do I really need it?

It allows data to be sent directly from the chipset to the AGP master graphics chip instead of keeping a copy in system memory and later let the AGP master fetch it.
As for fast-writes, I’d think no significant performance increase when it’s enabled. The fact is that there is very little need to retrieve textures from main memory in today’s games and the VGA card nowadays has such huge local memory, so the AGP bus is not used for texturing.
