I had a wirless mouse. Whats the point... a cable never snags or anything, its aaste of space to have a charget and a reciver etc etc when you couldb just have one simple wire. I would personally get the MX 300 because I hate having too many buttons... I find that I accidently press them in games, exeting to desktop or accidently starting up a random program.
I've got the 500 and its great the 700 was just to expensive for me and although its not supposed to have any lag as compared with a wired mouse I did not want to risk it. Clear ur desk get the mx500 use the extra cash saved to buy a nice mousing surface.
i'd recommend wireless if you can afford it. I know it hasn't happened to often to the logitech mice, but I went thru THREE Microsoft Intellimice Opticals. Why? Shoddy soddering of the wires of the cord. Went corldess and the only problem I have is my rechargable batteries only last me a week or two. The 700 looks to be nice b/c it has a recharging stand. I may order it soon here myself.
I also have the MX-700 and highly recommend it. If it doesnt dent your wallet then spend the extra cash. i play BF1942 with it and the fact that it doesn't have a cord makes it easier to set aside when I go to my flight stick. It does feel heavier than other mice but to tell you the truth it feels better heavier. I am primarily a sniper in my clan so accuracy is GOD and this mouse performs flawlessly.

I asked myself the same question right before I bought my MX700. Didn't know why I would want wireless, but now that I have had it, I will never go back. Since I use a wrist riser when I mouse, the extra weight really isn't that much of a problem.
