How to build a Paladin?

I tried it once to do a Hammerdin but stayed in low level with him... it
was fine but I focused on another char.

Now that I'm back playing with the new 1.11 I already leveled a Trapassin
(my fav char) but I know it won't perform at all against new Ubers...

What is the most powerful Paladin build? I could read a few guides but you
can also just tell me where to invest points. Do you have to constantly
switch of auras? Is it like playing piano with the Fx keys? I hope not...
