Is killing Diablo in Normal the HARDEST thing to do in this game or is it
just me?
I just killed him with my skellimancer (realms, SC) and regardless of class
its ALWAYS a hard fight. He seems much easier in Nightmare and even Hell
(once you get past the oblivion knights).
I just had to rant (after 7 team wipes and 2 deaths)

Congratulations. :-)
It's not just you.
My untwinked barb had been cubing every three normal rejuvs to full
rejuvs from Act I in anticipation of this particular battle. Good
thing. In whacking the Big D to death with his piddly Isenhart sword
(damage 17-18 )I think he went through 14 full rejuvs. Didn't die,
though.

humph, lvl 24 for Duriel? Misfit you're a pansie.
OK, I admit, I hardly ever do Duriel anymore with a character. I just
rush through. Fine, I'm a pansie too.

I've left my irony radar at home... this is ironic right? Normal
Diablo the hardest thing to do in the game _for all characters_ ? I'd
say for most characters, he isn't even really that difficult, even
untwinked. The worst problems with him are the irritating blocking and
the fact he is very high level, meaning that melee has a low chance to
hit him, and his lightning breath attack that is quite damaging. It's
still not too bad though is it? For a summoner, 1 in iron maiden and 1
in clay golem does the job easily.
For most chars I would say that hell Nilly is one of the hardest areas
with the bugged vipers. Hell ancients is usually quite tricky too
unless you have a lot of minions, and sometimes Baal runs can be a bit
dangerous. Random bosses with bad combos still trump everything
though.
I suppose for a skellimancer, normal Diablo might seem difficult simply
because the rest of the game is so easy with the ultra-powerful minions
available with a level 1 skill. Could that be it?

For a sorceress, Diablo falls readily enough under Blizzard.

The best strat for a necro is to use a clay golem and iron maiden.
Keep D cursed and keep a CG in front of him and he'll kill himself.

Duriel wasn't that hard for me, even without decrepify. I just cast my
golem on the opposite side of my merc that always seems to work. Duriel
splits his attention while amp damage and my skellies go to work.

My Barb had a really hard time with NM Ancients. Luckily I got one alone
behind the entrance, but he still proved really fierce. Baals minions
afterwords was easy, and though Baal himself was really tough, he way
nothing compared to those pesky Ancients.
I specialize in Frenzy (lev 23), and sword mastery (16), to deal damage
as fast as possible. The Ripsaw has taken me trough NM really easy, but
now in Hell it just doesn't deal enough damage. Just found a Legend
Sword (best speed/damage combo in the game!!), which I can equip soon
(need 10 more in strength). I am level 67 now. I wonder if I should use
one of my imbues on it, or if I should socket it? Or maybe both, adding
one socket after the imbue...
