How to recover files

Is there any way to recover all the files that got removed when window is formatted?
I jut installed my window in C drive but my data in the F drive get removed. All my adta is archived but when I extracted from that arrchive all data is gone.

Was drive F encrypted or compressed in some way? Was drive F not a separate drive but a partition of the same hard drive as the C: drive?

There are tons of posts about lost data on here, simple answer is to run a program like Easeus to see if it will find the lost data.

No0it is not encrapted or compressed & it is an external hard disk of 320 gb size.

Try Easeus to see if it will get your files back, if you did not over-write anything on the drive it should work pretty well. I think the free version will only get you 2 or 4 gig worth of files.
