I just bought a new Geforce 4 4200. For some reason the highes res I can get is 1024x720. I know my monitor can support much higher resolutions, what must I do to make it work?

I'm using windows xp pro

Hmm....2 things,
Make sure, that you have the correct drivers installed for your monitor, and also for the graphics card. If you do, re-install them.
Otherwise you can try this, but be careful, since you can fry your monitor.
Under the advanced settings, in your display options, go to monitor/properties...there is a box with 'hide modes this monitor cannot display'. Untick that, and it should work.

I checked my drivers, the graphics card drivers are up to date but I cannot find the drivers anywhere for my IBM G52 monitor anywhere. I'll give your method a shot, I have a backup just in case :)

I'm running on WIN 98 SE, and I it has your drivers.
Go to display, advanced, monitor, and then "change"...
Select your own, and then make it "show all".
Ive got it under "IBM PC Company" and there is a 6546 G52.
Try that...

You can also use one of the standard monitor types, for instance "super vga 1280x1024 @ 75hz"
