My brother has PIII system (specs below) and wants to play games faster. How fast a video card can he put in there before he's just wasting money? I think he has the GeForce 2 440mx now. Would he gain noticeable performance if he went with a Ti4200?

Computer Info:
IBM PC 300 GL
Model #: 6574-RR6
Pentium III 667
256 Meg SDRAM

I recommend that he go the madonion.com and compare the 3dmark results of people with his pIII system and with Geforce 2 Mmx with the people with similar system and a ti4200. That will tell him how much will the performance increase.

I think this will be a good buy and a significant improvement to upgrade to a Ti4200

It's really a shame he doesn't have a 650. The reason I say this is because the PIII 650E can be overclocked to 800EB speeds on most boards by increasing the bus speed to 133MHz. But his 667 is already 133MHz bus. I would recommend he upgrade his CPU to a 1000EB first, and think about a faster card later.
