What is messenger doing?

I've got SP2 loaded and have turned on the firewall feature. I'm
starting to notice some interesting events. I had a program crash and
got the "send debug info to Microsoft" prompt. I answered NO and up
popped MS Messenger trying to get through the firewall.

Is messenger silently sending info somewhere even when you tell the
computer you don't want to pass debug info along to MS?

Greetings,

No, Messenger has nothing to do with it. This sounds more like a random event to me.
