If a mobo manufacturer can design and make both Intel and AMD mobos, why a graphics card manufacturer can't design and make both ATI and Nvidia cards?

Liscencing agreements. Neither ATI nor nVidia will allow a manufacturer to liscence a competors product.

Why they act such? I would think about buying Radeons seriously if it was available through ASUS/MSI. In my country, I can find only PowerColor and sometimes Gigabyte cards. I can't trust them as much as ASUS/MSI.

Yeah, I liked Hercules, really had respect for em. Spitfire- Gigabyte is a damn good company- I used to have a GF2 Pro from them and it was an excellent card.

Hmm.., but what about PowerColor? They are more common than Gigabyte here.

One question, does ATI drivers work with Gigabyte cards? Or I must use Gigabyte drivers with Gigabyte Cards?

All ATI based card work well with ATI driver, but if you face any problem when using the driver (which is unlikely), go back to the old driver.

PapaSmurf: Why only nVidia? I guess it´s personal preference, but apart from the NV30 being released tomorow (or atleast in a few days), see no point in boicotting ATI.

I'm also in Nvidia's camp (for now). I choose their products for ease of use and driver support. I've owned two Ati cards (Radeon 64Mb ViVo and the 8500 LE 128Mb) and both were plagued with system crashes.

It´s too bad ATI has messed up the drivers in the past, now everyone thinks they have bad drivers even though they have put hard work into the drivers and now have as good drivers as nVidia does. And even nVidia messes up sometimes.

Are PowerColor cards good? Does they use identical memory compared to BBA cards?

You mean Evil Commando II? I'm not quite sure about the quality since I don't have one. But all the "Power by ATI" Radeon Card have the similiar technology (even the PCB layout) so they should just work just like an original "Build by ATI" card.

I wanted to know about PowerColor Radeon 7000, 7500, 9000 Pro and 8500 (not LE) cards. I am curious to know that if BBA cards and these cards use memory of same speed (GB/s, access time)

I am not boycotting ati, I have nothing against them and I am glad they exist as they further video card technology, it is good that nvidia has someone to compete with other wise they would release their new stuff as fast as they wanted instead of as fast as they could to keep up with their rivals. I stick with nvidia cause they bought all of 3dfx's technology and I guess I feel that all that is left of that once great company is now part of nvidia. ati makes great products it is just my personal preferance.
