This is single player? I can send you a "blank" paladin, level 69, just
entering hell mode. You can allocate your stats and skills as you see
fit. What items do you need?

You should backup the files that are in the "SAVE" folder.

I learned to do that because my son, now 5 years old was playing my SP
characters back when he was 3 years old and they were very easy for him
to delete. Also easy for him to go to town and sell the useless uniques
and rares and buy the nice blue armor, red sword, and horned helmet.

Backing up the files became part of regular activity at the end of a
session whenever my wife or I played.

That's hilarious! Sell a Shako to buy a "Horned Helm of Deflection."
Sell a Fury Balrog Blade to buy a "War Sword of the Wraith." Sell a
Gladiator's Bane to buy "Chain Mail of Nova Shield!" I'll have to
remember that.

I ask because I don't have a pally. I would need to make one (In a hero
editor, naturally). Are you interested in finding items for yourself,
or do you simply want to be godly? Like I said, I can send you a blank
level 69 pally, no skills assigned, no stats assigned, just starting
Hell mode. I can give you a decent selection of Exceptional quality
rares/uniques/magic items (from my personal Atma collection), and a
stash full of gold, and you can continue to play "legit", as it were,
or, I can send you godly elite stuff. IMHO, it's better to start off
without the godly items, since then you actually will have a challenge
ahead of you.

Gee, I'm such a nice guy. I sent you a level 69 paladin, with 101 free
stat points, and 74 free skill points. He's just entering Hell M Mode.
You should be able to start adventuring in Hell now. (You'll need to
kill Radaman in both Normal and Nightmare... for some reason that quest
wouldn't take (I whipped this char up in Zonfire, but he's strictly "by
the book", so to speak)).

I only gave him legit items that were actually in my Atma stash, so no
uber hear, sorry, but he's got some decent gear such a Guillaume's
Face, Whitstan's Guard, Bloodfist, Plague Bearer, Crown of Thieves,
Darkglow, Tearhaunch, Dwarf Star, Bonesnap, Manald Heal, Nagelring, and
Chance Guards. Plus, I copied a full set of charms from my assassin, so
you've got those too. "Lancelot" should be quite playable. If not, then
you can always hunt for items in Nightmare until he is.  

Try to not lose this one, eh?
