hi
finally collected the IK set and building a new barb for it.
the question is what merc to get? might or defiance?
i tried the set on my frenzy barb with max shout, defiance merc and a
few points in ironskin. he had something like 17k+ defence. and
2200-4000 damage. i like defiance but does defence drop when WWing?

Not that I know. Defense will, however, still be reduced if you use
Berserk, and I presume all barbs will have at least 1 point in it, and use
it occasionally, for countering Oblivion Knights/Iron Maiden...

My IK barb on the previous ladder used a Might merc, for the extra damage
it provides. He either WWed (most of the crowds), or Concentrate (for
tough monsters/bosses). And 1 point in Berserk for OK's.

That worked very nice, he solo-ed the entire game by himself, finally
killing Hell Baal. After that, he wasn't used much, though I did
occasionally take him out of the parking to run/WW around with.

Damge without Might active (between brackets with Might):

Concentrate: 3309-5420 (3748-6063)
WW: 2759-4616 (3198-5258)
Berserk: 3078-5082 (3517-5725)

So Might doesn't really add that much damage really, so Defiance is a very
valid alternative if you go a more defensive route.
