Usb ports are not working

Hello,my usb ports are not working in xp or window7.I cant send data to my laptop.can u help me solving the problem?i ve hp with model no-dv2713tu.

Is this a fresh windows install? Are the usb ports on the tower or monitor? Did they just stop working or have they never worked?

Have you installed Intel chipset support?
