After reading:
http://www17.tomshardware.com/graphic/02q4/021104/r9700...

Where they talked about the IMAGE quality of Sapphire at high resolutions, I ask two questions:
1. How does ATI's Radeon 9700 PRO compare with all the rest? (VERY interesting).
2. Does this mean that if I want to work with 1280x1024@32Bit, then Sapphire is the ONLY true good card?

Waiting.

All the current cards are built according to the ATI reference, so how can Sapphire have (noticeably) better IQ. Better components and outputs? If it really has clearly better image-quality than the rest of the 9700Pro cards, maybe they´ve changed something?

they are all based on the reference design but not the reference parts... so it is possible that Sapphire used parts that ultimately created a better image output.

It's a pretty common occurencce with Nvidia products to have one card perform slightly better than another. It's due to the fact that manufacturers all use diferent components.

Hmmm... Sapphire makes most of the BBA boards anyways, so there should be 0 difference.

So I'm saying that buying a Sapphire and ATi shouldn't make a difference. Not all are made by Sapphire, but a good chance you'll get one made by Sapphire.

Maybe Tom just got a good one. It's like trying to compare monitors. Or trying to compare overclockability of two P4 1.8As. Some were made on a good day by a guy who worked there for 30 years, some were made by a guy in training who's deperately trying to meet quota.
