.... because it surprises us with treasures when we expect them the least.

Gunde and I were about to proceed to Hell with our current playing chars
(Beekeeper and Convictioner) when suddenly, after having finished off
the last wave of Baal's minions, we both stared at the treasure in
disbelieve. An OHM. Yes. There. On the ground. I still can't believe it.

According to the ATMA drop calculator the odds (in a 5 player game, we
had 3 mules in the game) for an OHM from NM Baal's minions are 1:1.6
million.

Oh yeah, good for you. It just means that now I have to do a minimum of
1,599,999 nm baal runs to havea chance at an OHM. Selfish Pigs.

Congratulations! My best drop was a Vex in Nightmare Worldstone Keep. This
was in a full game on battlenet, luckily for me nobody else notice it :)

What he didn't mention that only Lo and a small mana potion have worse odds
to drop there.

This could also mean that the ATMA calculator is no longer accurate, and
that Blizzard changed the drop chances for runes.

One could hope, anyway.

Maybe, maybe not. :-) All those who have found a LO or OHM in general play
this season, raise your hand.

Can I raise my hand? Does my Ber count? ; )

And I found a Lo last ladder and an Ohm the ladder before that.

Sure it does!

Only recent rune drops count.

Ohm and Sur here.
If Vex counts, then that too.
Ist from a Dead Rogue in Den of Evil is my biggest surprise.

Yes, I too feel 1.11 drops runes at much higher rates. Unfortunately,
since I have only started using MPQViewer with this version, I can't
compare that without reinstalling.

Funny, for some of us, it's QUITE the opposite. I guess the two cancel each
other out. ;-)

It would be fairer for those who have experienced these rune drops at
much higher rates cancel their unfair advantage by gifting said runes
to those who believe that runes are dropping at much lower rates.

The reasoning is that if runes ARE dropping at much higher rates for
those people, then they will find another soon. For those of us who are
experiencing the lower rune drop rates, these gifted runes will appease
us for the time being until we can be assured of said drop rates.

Fair?

Sounds totally fair to me.

Now then, where's my Zod rune?
