Hi all:
I'm almost done with the selection of components for a new system, but I still have a doubt with one of them and I was wondering if someone in here can give some advice. I want to use a MoBo Gigabyte GA-8SG667 which says clearly (in its manual) that it ONLY works with AGP 4x/8x (1.5v) cards, stating that the use of any card 2x (3.3v) results in a hardware damage. Due to Sapphire ATI 8500 LE 128 MB claims to be 2x/4x (3.3v at 2x and 1.5v at 4x), can I use this card in the MoBo specified?. I have read that most of this video cards (2x/4x) come with a 2x default configuration, so, it would be dangerous for the Gigabyte MoBo insert this video card?. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

ALL RADEON CARDS SUPPORT THE LOWER 1.5V INPUT VOLTAGE BY INTERNAL AUTO-SWITCHING. EVEN THE OLD ORIGINAL RADEONS DID, AND THE 8500'S STILL DO.
