delay in sending messege in messenger

We are currently having problems with sending messeges in
msn messenger. There is a 5-10 second delay after we hit
enter to send our messege to whom ever we are chatting
with. I have phoned the 1 800 # and the person i spoke
with has no idea why this is happening. I have also
uninstalled messenger 6.2 and reinstalled it and still i
am having the same problem....Plz if you can help that
would be mostly appreciated.
I have even ran a virus scan and there was no virus
reported.
