Wondering if anyone can help me with this problem:

While installing Civ3, my computer locked up. I then re-started &
tried to uninstall Civ3 from the start menu. The computer prompted if
I wanted to remove the program & I clicked yes. Then the percentage
bar pops up and goes right from 1% to 100% in about one second, and
claims that the program is uninstalled. Of course, it's still there.
I tried to uninstall in the control panel, and it behaves in exactly
the same way. Plus, it does no good trying to reinstall from the
game's opening screen (after I've popped the cd rom in).

Anyone have this trouble & know a fix? I am running Windows XP, 1 Gig
Pent. 3, 512 Megs.

I had this problem once, found the only way around it was to install to a
new Directory and then delete the old Directory, uninstall the game and
reinstall it in the directory you wanted it in.
If that doesn't work, try deleting all reference to Civ 3 in the registry
( Back it UP first). Then try reinstalling.
