US Civ 3 with UK Conquests?

I'm from the UK, and bought the Limited Edition (metal box) version of
Civ 3 via import as it didn't appear to be available over here. I'm now
interested in buying Conquests, but am unsure as to whether a UK
version would actually work with my US version of Civ 3.

Since an increasing number of UK retailers are claiming that they
cannot accept returns of PC software (although the Sale of Goods Act
may suggest otherwise), can anyone say whether the UK version of
Conquests would work with US Civ 3?
