First things first. I HATE THE AI. ;o) I've been trying to play on the
higher diff levels but get frustrated as the AI kick my ass in tech and
Histograph. For instance I just started playing on Regent and do the AI
really just start off good ror what? Whats there advantages? Bastards. Is
there a chance of even catching up to em in then end. What wonders and techs
are worth trying to get. That is all.

Thanks

At Regent, the AI has the same starting setup and production that
you do in general, and isn't quite as smart as a human so this is
generally considered even or less.

But the AI is *really* good at AI to AI diplomacy. The AI rarely
initiates diplomacy with you, the human, and then primarily for
military reasons, not tech and other trade. It is up to you to manage
trading with the AI, and get the best results from it.

The first most obvious thing to work on is expansion. The AI builds
new cities fast. If you don't do the same, you'll fall behind. A few
very good cities can eventually beat many poorer cities, but score is
based first of all on population, plain and simple. More cities means
more score.

More cities also means more production in the short term, and that
means faster science.

The other key is trade, making sure that all squares have roads.
The human can beat the AI here simply by making enough workers, but
this comes at a short term cost in military power.
