I just say on the civ3 site that they came out with a 'complete' set..
Is it different then having Civ3 & then getting conquests.. or did they
add something special to it..????

I would guess that it's just a "war-chest", bundling Civ and Conquests (and
therefore PtW) into a single purchase.

Nothing new.... Just the fully patched versions of all three titles...
Worth the buy if you only have Civ III vanilla... But, if you've already
got Conquests (then you have PTW) I see no need to spend any more money for
a product that is no longer being bug-fixed and upgraded.....

The intended audience is for those who don't have Civ III Vanilla and
would now like the game with the addons. It's a common last commerical
product in a software line to have either a "Gold Edition" (Civ II) or
"Complete" (Civ III)
Well, as for adding things special, it's possible they might bundle
some free web content from various sites.
I bought it from Best Buy today, and it's giving the old "CD/DVD Rom
Emulation
software detected" error. I don't have CD or DVD ROM emulation running (I
do
have Clone CD installed, as well as Pinnacle 8 and a few other CD/DVD
authoring
tools) but I DO have a DVD ROM Drive, a CDRW drive, and a DVD+/-RW drive
all in the system (and RAID, etc.). Tech support wants me to turn off my
Virus
Scan... I don't think so!
DO NOT BUY THIS!
I am HIGHLY disgruntled over a $40 game now good for nothing but taking
up space.

Having drive emulation software installed shouldn't, by itself,
trigger a copy protection block. Drive virtualization is too useful
for things like CDROM/DVD authoring, letting you make "test" copies
without burning CDs (taking time even with rewriteables).
It may be that one or more of your CD/DVD authoring tools includes
support for drive emulation, even if no virtual drive is enabled.
Still, I'd say, "Make the thing work anyway." The game itself
shouldn't complain whatsoever about drive presence, it is just the
copy protection code (which AFAIK in earlier editions only tested on
game run, not install, and as I *do* have a virtual drive set up,
didn't complain about it either).
