How can I get my current email provider in Windows 7

Hello,I just hooked up my Windows 7 PC. I used Outlook Express (ISP is RCN) and want to be able to transfer my files, folder, etc. over (all my printed material has my rcn address on it.) The RCN tech didn't know what to do. I have clicked on Download Windows Live Mail and it tells me I have installed it - but it doesn't show in the apps or anywhere. What to do? Assume I need to have Windows Live Mail in order to do a change-over to my RCN account...or am I completely off base? Help!
