I need help getting Windows Messenger (vsn 4.7) to sign on
automatically when I start up my computer. (Yes, I know
lots of people ask for help turning this feature off, but
I want it on because some of the people I work with at
remote sites use it to communicate with me, and I'm too
senile to remember to start it by hand every morning.) I
have tried the obvious thing - that is I've followed the
directions in the help files and else where to check the
box marked "Sign me in Automatically" when I log on, but
my computer (running XP Pro SP2) doesn't seem
to "remember" that instruction. Next time I start up, the
box isn't checked and Windows Messenger doesn't sign on.
It does start, though. The icon appears in my system
tray. It shows up, however, with an X over it and I'm not
signed on until I do so manually.
What setting do I need to change to make the sign on
happen automagically?
