Want to add wireless

I recently bought a Satellite A10, and did not get the optional
wireless. Now I want to add this feature. I travel a lot, and want
wireless access in various motels, hotels, and other hot spots.

What is it that I will need? Just a wireless card, and do I need an
antenna? Any other tips or advice?

Where did you get it? What kind of wireless option was offered?
There are "internal" Mini-PCI wireless cards offered in some notebook
computers that attach to internal antennas. An internal antenna may be
installed in your PC, even though you didn't get the card. The connector
would be obvious inside the compartment where a Mini-PCI fits.

If the optional wireless is just a "Linksys Wireless PC Card", then you
could use any card. Linksys is just one popular vendor.

You might also want to consider a USB wireless adapter, either miniature or
standard, as these can be located optimally for reception, instead of a
small antenna sticking out the side of a PC Card slot.

Antennas usually aren't necessary for connecting to the WiFi offered in a
hotel room, Starbucks, or airport.
