im wondering if the built in Promise RAID controller is going to suck CPU time? if so ill use a PCI RAID card cuz i need the data tranfer along with all the CPU i can get.(Really going to need every MHZ off this sys, going to be running it into the ground).

then why aren't you using scsi? if you're that concerned than i would go scsi and be done with it. but...the main thing between onboard raid and a controller card is... the onboard will hold the pci bus longer, so if you're doing heavy video capping and stuff, you might run into some problems. where as a seperate controller card has it's own bios that can be adjusted as well as utilities that you can set the bandwidth amount for your array.
