Hi all,
Here it is new years day and I'm starting the year off with some over clocking. Yes I do need a life. So someone kook me up with a date ;)
Ok. I have a Dragon+, Athalon 1700+ (1470MGHZ), Geforce 3, onboard sound, Two IBM 30gig 7200rpm udma5 HDs with raid 0 and two 256mb corsair PC2400 DDR dims (these are said to run at 300MGHZ).
I set the FSB to 145MGHZ. The system boots fine. I cant tell any difference in system behavior. Smart guardian reports CPU temps from 40 to 44C. Same as before over clocking. I did not adjust CPU voltage. It is default settings. I have ran Q3A timedemo 1 demo 1 a few times and sandra benchmarks with no problems.
Sandra results: Dhrystone ALU 4441 mips
Whetstone FPU 2215 mplops
Multimedia
Integer SSE 8876 it/s
Floating point SSE 10210 it/s
Drive index C: 41558
Memory
Int ALU/ram bandwidth 890 mb/s
Float FPU/ram bandwidth 943 mb/s
CPU multiplier 11 X 145 FSB = 1595 MGHZ. Sandra regognizes my CPU as Athalon 1900+ 1600MGHZ.

So there ya go. In case anyone wanted to know how others have done overclocking the 1600+. I did try setting the FSB to 150 and got the blue screen of death on boot.

as far as i know, the 1600+ is 1400mhz on default with a 10.5 mutiplier. 10.5*133=1395
how did u get a 11 multipier? did u unlock it?
