I have just re-loaded everything from Windows upwards.
I want to re-load Civ 3 (of course) but don't want to lose my hall of fame
data (it has - for me - some impressive stats on it).
Where do I find the files? Is is just the file called Highscores.cv3 file?
Do I just copy that across and then the hall of fame will show up on my new
install?
If you have more than one version of Civ, there are more than one HOF files.
I found that out when I copied the files from my dad's computer to hias new
one. He had a Chieftan game with a score of over 50,000. Yes, you read
that right. No idea how he did it. He doesn't know how he did it. He
doesn't even remember the game. I'd think he cheated if I thought he knew
how, but anyway, the point is he wanted it. He had Vanilla, PTW and
Conquests all bought seperatly, and I kept copying the "one" file, and it
kept not showing the game. So, finally I figured it out. If you got Civ
Complete, it may be different, but there were PTW and Conquests versions of
the HOF file when they were all bought alone, so keep it in mind. There's
the HighScores.cv3 file you mentioned and possibly Campaignrecord.hof if you
did the campaigns. I didn't copy those, so I don't know if that's all you
need for it. Hope this helps.

You'll get a *really* high score if you manage to wipe out everyone
else early in the game. Small map, few civs, everyone on one island,
and a lucky break with goodie huts or position, and you can end the
game before 2000 BC.
