Hi!

I have a pentium3 733 with an Asus G-force 2 7700 Deluxe and I can, of course, watch Dvds in my system without any stops or breaks!! But one thing that is boring me, is the quality of the image which is not perfect!! Even using the best software decoders like Power DVD etc..,the image shows a little... lack of anti-aliasing, if you know what I mean! It´s not so clear and the image has not the contour so detailed as on the others Dvds players for TVs!

And with so many newer versions coming, why do they not make some improevments in the quality of the image??

I think the graphics cards from Ati, has better image quality as do the PS2 console. Is any possibility for us, PC users, to see in a near future, an increase of image quality through software?

Thank you very much!

José Rui.

This is usually caused by the monitor not being as grainy as a television screen. Sorry, your monitor is too good for watching DVD's. My suggestion is to set your resolution to 640x480@60hz, then attach an old VGA (prior to SVGA) monitor.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

yeah.
the bulk standard analogue TV is quite crap compared to a computer monitor.

very low resolution, refresh rate of only 60Hz or so, and blurrey pixels... which give u the 'smoothing' effect.

if u want TV... hook a tv up to your graphics card.

The lack of thermal protection on Athlon's is cunning way to stop morons from using AMD. :)
