is it possible to have a wireless link using two wireless cards only, like
your laptop pcmcia wireless card and pci wireless card for desktop? Do you
really need AP or wireless router they sell? I am thinking about some cheap
setup for my linux desk + linux laptop. Desktop is DSL wired laptop needs
internet access using wireless link.
thank you

yep,,, set cards ad-hoc
It's exactly like having a nic in each computer wired together with cat5
only you have to choose a wireless channel, wireless ssid name, and
optionally wireless security parameters.
