In Civ2 is there in tech to get the whole map. If not what is the
easiest way of getting info apart from sharing with computer players
(which they don't like to do)

Actually in civ III they're a lot more willing to swap maps. If they
know more of the world than you do, they want money, but they'll
generally swap territory and/or world maps if the price is right.

They're perfectly happy to trade. However if their map is more complete
than yours, then they will want you to add money (or other valuables) to the
trade. Similarly if yours is better than theirs, they may pay extra for it.

And this applies to Civ2 as well?
I just give them a gift, right?

Beg your pardon. I didn't notice you were asking about Civ2.

IIRC (It's been a long time) in Civ2 it's just a straight trade. I don't
recall any particular difficulty with it, though.

Build the Apollo wonder which becomes available with space flight.
Very late in the game though.
I never had much trouble sharing with computer players provided you
are reasonable about it.

I find that if they want a tech as well as swapping maps I just put
the tech on the table and ask what they are willing to trade for it.
Often I get their territory or world map thrown in to their price.

Satellites. That however is at the very end of the Tech tree.

I don't know how to do that in Civ2 dude.

Never mind. I missed the civ2 part of the question.
